Leeds United transfer news: £4.3m bid update emerges on Marseille and Rangers target Josh Doig
Leeds United are in a transfer battle with Marseille and Rangers among other clubs, and have already made an approach for Josh Doig, per HITC.
The news outlet reported on 10 January that Marseille will be opening talks soon while Alfredo Pedulla claims that they’ve already sent in a £4.3million offer for the 21-year-old.
There are understood to be other clubs keen on securing the Scottish left-back’s services as well this month.

Losing battle?
Leeds face a significant challenge trying to sign someone like Doig who appears to be among the priorities for Marseille this month.
Having experienced issues with left-back options, the Whites sought Doig to address defensive vulnerabilities, particularly with Junior Firpo’s injury proneness and inconsistency.
The makeshift deployment of Djed Spence, naturally a right-back, and the return of Sam Byram highlighted the need for a reliable left-back.

With Spence sent back to Tottenham, that’s another option short for Daniel Farke as he’ll certainly be facing a selection crisis at Elland Road.
Marseille’s reported £4.3million bid and potential bidding wars raise financial hurdles for Leeds, considering their need to strengthen various positions and remain financially prudent.
It’s important that the Whites sign a new left-back in January but convincing Doig to ditch a Ligue 1 move for a Championship one appears to be wishful thinking, to say the least.
In other Leeds United news, an international player linked with a move to Elland Road is unhappy at his current club and could be on his way out in the January transfer window.
