Leeds United torn on Jack Harrison exit to Leicester City behind the scenes
Leeds United remain torn on whether to sanction Jack Harrison’s move to Premier League rivals Leicester City on deadline day, according to Tom Collomosse.
The Foxes launched a £20million bid for the 26-year-old earlier in the window, with the Whites now debating whether to sell the attacker or offer him a new, improved contract [David Ornstein, 28 January]
Writing on the Daily Mail’s deadline day live blog (Tuesday 31 January, 8:08am), Collomosse revealed that Harrison had doubts about joining another side embroiled in a relegation battle, while others behind the scenes were willing to give him the green light to leave.

He wrote: “Leicester are trying to sign Harry Souttar from Stoke and Jack Harrison from Leeds – Harrison is a complex deal: some at Leeds want to sell him, and the player himself is not entirely convinced about joining another struggler.”

Tough decision
There will be mixed opinions among Leeds fans on the potential sale of Harrison on deadline day, as he has looked like a man possessed in recent weeks.
After struggling to impact proceedings in the first few months of the season, he has been back to his best since the World Cup break. His goal against Accrington Stanley was an absolute beauty and highlighted his confidence at the moment.
However, after spending big so far this January, with Max Wober, Georginio Rutter and Weston McKennie all costing a fair amount of money, the club may be forced to cash in on the lucrative offer Leicester have tabled.
A price of £20million for Harrison is a fair offer, and the club are unlikely to get much better if they want to sell the player in the future. The deal may well come down to Jesse Marsch’s valuation of Harrison and how much he wants him to stay at Elland Road.
