Leeds United to reject any offers as Spurs make late bid to sign Dan James
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made a late bid to prise Dan James away from Leeds United with Antonio Conte keen on the attacker.
According to the Daily Mirror, there are talks about a loan move with an obligation to buy, but Leeds are not entertaining the prospect of an exit in any form as Marsch sees him as a key part of his plans.
After selling Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha, they do not want any other big-name players leaving Elland Road this summer.
If Spurs are willing to pay almost as much as what Leeds did for James, then they must cash in on his services this summer.
The Welshman has not yet got going at Leeds and looking at him in the Premier League for Manchester United as well, there’s little to suggest that he’ll turn it around.
Marcelo Bielsa was a big admirer and it did make sense to sign him for the Argentine but Marsch would rather Leeds sign a new striker.
If he’s given the option of selling James for a quality striker, there’s a very good chance that he would take it as he’s already got Luis Sinisterra and Brenden Aaronson capable of playing on the right.
Crysencio Summerville has also been given the number 10 so there’s an expectation that he will get some more game time this season.
There is little sense in keeping James and hopefully, they are having discussions inside Elland Road to bring in a striker and cashing in on the Wales international.
