Leeds United to make "serious push" to sign Ben Brereton-Diaz in January
Leeds United are looking to sign Blackburn goal-machine Ben Brereton-Diaz in the upcoming January transfer window.
That’s according to EuroSport, who report on their website that the Whites are expected to make a “serious” push to bring the Chilean international to Elland Road.
Brereton-Diaz is out of contract at Ewood Park at the end of the season and interest is seriously mounting around England.
A number of Premier League clubs including Burnley, Newcastle, Brighton and Southampton have all been watching the attacker closely.
On top of them, Sevilla are also looking to add Brereton-Diaz to their ranks in La Liga as he makes huge strides in South America.
The striker is said to be in talks over a new contract at Blackburn, but it is shared that there are no indications that pen has been put to paper yet.
Brereton-Diaz has already scored 16 times in his 20 games in the Championship this season as he continues to find the back of the net for fun.
Get it done.
Leeds are crying out for more options in the final third, that has been made more than clear this season.
Patrick Bamford is finally returning from injury, but there is no out-and-out option to replace him when that happens and our problems in front of goal have returned.
Brereton-Diaz has shown in the Championship and on the international stage with Chile that he has no problems in that department.
On top of that, his contract situation just makes it that more appealing, and Victor Orta must ready the assault to bring him to Yorkshire now ahead of the window.
Not only can he score for fun, but his powerful frame and good speed makes him similar to Bamford and proves he could be very successful at Elland Road under Marcelo Bielsa.
This is certainly one to watch out for, fingers crossed.
