Leeds United to be handed PSR boost from Glen Kamara transfer developments

Leeds United will be handed a PSR boost in this financial year should the sale of Glen Kamara be sanctioned, according to Beren Cross.

The Leeds Live journalist reported on 15 July that due to the profit that the club are set to receive from Kamara’s impending sale to Rennes, their FFP projections will be increased.

Should the £8.6million deal be sanctioned [Fabrizio Romano], the Whites can expect a profit of anywhere between £2.75million and £5million.

Leeds United selling Glen Kamara is good for the club

The former Rangers man is 28 years old and has only been plying his trade in West Yorkshire for one season.

Although when called upon he was a more than strong enough defensive midfielder, he failed to offer much going forward.

He did manage to rack up four assists last term but when compared to the likes of Joe Rothwell who has just been brought in, the numbers don’t quite add up.

The former Blackburn Rovers man played 20 games for Southampton last term (22 less than Kamara) and managed to contribute to five goals despite playing in the same position.

Rennes have signed Glen Kamara from Leeds

In addition to looking good in terms of PSR, getting circa £8.6million for a player who’s 28 years old [ELMO TV, 14 July] is a solid return.

Kamara’s departure also opens the door for youngster Charlie Crew to make his way into the first team and repay the faith shown in him by Leeds after signing a four-year deal with the West Yorkshire outfit.

All in all, despite the move not making sense to some, in reality, it’s a smart move from Daniel Farke.

In other Leeds news, the Whites could look at bringing in Oliver Skipp after Glen Kamara’s exit.
