Leeds United have agreed a £8.6 million deal to sell Glen Kamara to Rennes in a "mysterious" move, according to ELMO TV.

Finnish journalist Jukka Rönkä has reported for the outlet (14 July) that the French Side's "praised" recruitment department wants the White's midfielder for £8.6m this summer.

The journalist has suggested that the move is "mysterious" given that the Finland international's career "hasn't developed the way it seemed 3-4 years ago".

The 28-year-old performed well after moving to Elland Road for a reported £5m last summer. His success has been shown given that Rennes are paying an additional £3.6m for him a year later.

Glen Kamara to leave Leeds United for Rennes

It has come as a surprise to see Kamara be so close to leaving Leeds after just one season in the Championship under Daniel Farke.

Despite not earning promotion, the campaign was positive as a whole and provided a great base to build from moving forward.

Kamara featured across 42 games in all competitions for the Whites and became an integral part of the midfield at Elland Road.

Whether the Finn played alongside Ethan Ampadu or Archie Gray, he performed well and provided protection for the back four.

With the Englishman already having left Leeds for Tottenham this summer, losing Kamara as well could cause issues for Farke moving into the new season.

The Whites are getting a positive profit from the midfielder after a year of service which may be seen as a positive for the club.

The question would be whether or not they can pick up a player as good as and with the experience of Kamara for cheaper than £8.6m this summer.
