Leeds United to battle Liverpool and Everton for George Hall January transfer

Leeds United are now reportedly locked in a three-horse race with Liverpool and Everton to sign Birmingham City midfielder George Hall.

According to the Daily Mirror’s John Cross at 11:49 am on 17 December, the two Merseyside giants want to add to their youth ranks and have identified the 18-year-old as a suitable option.

TEAMtalk reported on 13 December, that the young Englishman was set to move to Elland Road with Leeds agreeing a deal.

Here we go again

Just as it looked like Leeds were getting a deal over the line, they now have competition from not one but two different teams.

Hall has been someone who’s been on Leeds’ radar for a while and it seemed like they had finally got their man after a lengthy chase.

However, Liverpool and Everton decided to play party poopers and will now give the teenager different options to choose from ahead of January.

The Reds can offer him more money and dangle the carrot of European football and their recent successes as a way to move to Anfield.

That being said, he knows that among the three teams, Leeds have promoted the most number of youngsters over the last two to three seasons.

If Hall is to get first-team minutes as soon as possible, we would recommend he moves to Elland Road and prove to Jesse Marsch why he deserves a senior push.

In other Leeds United news, an attacker linked with a move to Elland Road believes that he could leave his Champions League club in the January transfer window.
