Leeds United target Christian Pulisic shares update on Chelsea future ahead of January transfer window

Christian Pulisic admits that he’s focused on Chelsea but refuses to rule out a move in January amid links with Leeds United and Newcastle United.

The Daily Mail have also credited Manchester United with an interest in the American who recently went on USA teammate Tim Ream’s ‘Indirect‘ podcast to discuss his future.

CBS reporter Ben Jacobs has discussed the possibility of him moving to Elland Road after the World Cup and now that’s done.

Pulisic said, “Right now, I’m absolutely back at Chelsea and focused and that’s where my mind is at.

“Ready to finish the season. But you know how things work in football, things change. Anything can happen.

“Things change quickly, for sure. We all know it. At the moment, I’m just pushing myself in training and working at Chelsea because that’s where I am right now.”

There’s a chance

Pulisic has been linked with Leeds and Jesse Marsch being American only adds fuel to the speculation of a potential transfer in January.

He would certainly add a different element to this attack, but he does not play in the position that the Whites need in the coming months.

They have been eyeing a striker for over a year now and despite signing Willy Gnonto over the summer, the priority in January is still a number nine.

Pulisic prefers playing off the left and can also play on the right so links to him would make sense if Jack Harrison is to be moved on next month.

As things stand, Leeds need a left-back too so the chances of them signing Pulisic appear to be extremely slim.

We’re hoping that they do not pursue the American’s services even over the summer because he’s not lived up to his billing at Chelsea where he’s had better players around him and would struggle to carry the Leeds attack as well.

In other Leeds United news, the club are set to stay in touch with the agent of a striker at a big club ahead of a potential January transfer.
