Leeds United to battle Everton to sign James Garner with ‘Mass overhaul’ planned at Manchester United
Leeds United are set to battle the likes of Everton to sign Manchester United midfielder James Garner this summer, according to The Sun.
The newspaper have reported on their website that a host of Premier League clubs are interesting, including Leicester and Southampton, with the Foxes and Toffees most likely to pounce.
It is suggested that with Erik Ten Haag arriving at Old Trafford, a “mass overhaul” of the squad could take place, making players such as Garner potentially available.

Garner has enjoyed a very good weekend.
The midfielder started as Nottingham Forest secured promotion back to the Premier League for the first time in over 20 years with a 1-0 win over Huddersfield at Wembley.
Steve Cooper will likely retain his interest in the young maestro, meaning that is potentially another club in the race for his services this summer.
It is reported that Garner is believed to have the quality ready for the Premier League now, something he may need to look elsewhere for if he doesn’t get that at Old Trafford.

Battle.
Out of Jesse Marsch, Frank Lampard and Brenden Rodgers, it appears as though the latter is the most demanding of this potential signing.
That is no surprise given the likelihood of Youri Tielemans sealing his big exit this summer, with Kalvin Phillips having more chance of sticking around and signing a new contract.
Much will depend on the future of the Yorkshire Pirlo on whether we push hard for midfield reinforcements, with more than one needed if he does move on from Elland Road.
If Phillips sticks around, Marsch and Victor Orta may only push for one new central midfielder and it would likely be a permanent deal to help improve the squad, rather than a loan signing for depth.
Garner has been solid at Forest, but he hasn’t exactly blown the Championship away, and it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world to miss out on this one.
Would he consistently start at anywhere apart from Forest? Most likely not.
