Injury Expert: Leeds United team news v Newcastle - Patrick Bamford may return
Early Leeds United team news for the December 31 Premier League match-up against Newcastle has been revealed by Injury Expert Ben Dinnery.
The Whites will travel to St James Park after a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester City, a game no one expected Jesse Marsch’s side to win.
Dinnery confessed that three Leeds United talents are ruled out of the game but provided an interesting Patrick Bamford update to get fans excited.
Stuart Dallas, Archie Gray and Luis Sinisterra are all ruled out of the Newcastle game, however, USA World Cup star Tyler Adams will return from his one-match suspension.
The Injury Expert gave Bamford a 25% chance of featuring in the fixture on December 31, admitting he’ll be back in training after a sickness bug halted his progress.
The comeback kid.
It’s a nice sight to see, Bamford is slowly but surely getting eased back into things for the Whites and his comeback will be timely for Marsch.
The Whites need all their top players fit and firing for a crucial second half to the Premier League campaign and Bamford is one of these top talents who can help the squad massively.
Leeds United must ease Bamford back into affairs however, it seems he was rushed far too soon from injury this season and it affected his performances massively.
It’s been pretty clear in Bamford’s four Premier League outings this term that he wasn’t fully fit and this just damaged his confidence further when he didn’t perform.
The 29-year-old still has plenty left in the tank and with a potential new forward signing coming into the ranks in January, can share the weight of goals and expectations with them.
Whilst Dinnery’s prediction of Bamford making the Newcastle game are slim, at least he’s back training and putting himself into consideration once again.
