Leeds United target Matheus Cunha set for imminent transfer away from Atletico Madrid

Matheus Cunha’s hours at Atletico Madrid are reportedly numbered as Leeds United and Arsenal are among the clubs vying for his services.

According to Goal [19 December], the Whites and Gunners are not the only teams as Aston Villa and Wolves also want to snap up his services.

The Brazil striker is understood to be looking for a move away from Madrid and a transfer appears to be imminent with the race heating up.

Cunha is an ideal forward who will bolster this front line and give Jesse Marsch the fluidity he needs.

While he’s not a pure goal scorer, his link-up play is second to none and he will fit in seamlessly at Elland Road.

He also has the penchant for scoring some worldies and has already won the 2019 Bundesliga Goal of the Year award.

He’s also not known to be a disruptive force in the dressing room so he should not have too much problem in adapting to the Leeds players.

What could be tougher is the new surroundings as players from foreign leagues tend to find it hard to adapt to the Premier League.

The pace and physicality of England’s top flight is at a different level altogether and Cunha has to be up for it if he’s to be a success at Leeds.

It’s going to be tough to beat Arsenal and Aston Villa to his services as both clubs offer better prospects in terms of finances and their sporting projects so Victor Orta has to really come in clutch and get the job done.

In other Leeds United news, an attacker linked with a move to Elland Road claims that he could leave his Champions League club in the January transfer window.
