Leeds United table loan-to-buy transfer bid for Leicester City target Tete
Leeds United have reportedly tabled a bid for Leicester City target and Lyon attacker Tete with an aim to sign him before the 31 January deadline.
According to 90 Min on 27 January, the Whites have made an initial bid to sign him on loan until the end of the season and then seal his permanent signing.
However, Fabrizio Romano recently said that Leeds were focusing on Weston McKennie from Juventus while Leicester were in advanced talks with the Brazilian.
Via Twitter, Romano wrote, “Leicester City are in advanced talks to sign Brazilian winger Tete from Olympique Lyon. Discussions are now at final stages. Understand Leeds United are focused on Weston McKennie deal despite links with Tete.”
Bit odd
Leeds haven’t been chasing a wide player all month and it’s odd that they’ll be making a bid to sign them when they’ve already made two signings.

With McKennie, it’ll be three first-team signings and they really do not need another player in an area they’ve got plenty of depth in.
We do not think they’re actually keen on signing him and it’s either agent-driven talk or the media having a field day by using Leeds for clicks.
Either way, we’re hoping that this is not true and that the entire focus is on McKennie as he’s the player they have to get at all costs.
Hopefully, their next offer is close to what Juventus want after sitting down with them at the negotiation table and get this deal done before deadline day.
The panic will be at a different level if it’s left until then and nobody involved with Leeds wants that.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites appear to be on the cusp of another January signing as a player’s agent jets into the United Kingdom to conduct final transfer talks.
