Leeds United Super Fans discuss Ian Poveda’s future
This is part of a regular series from our panel of Leeds United Super Fans. Each week, Super Fans from our Leeds Insider Facebook page will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around Elland Road.
Leeds United fans have been reacting to a post on Leeds Insider’s Facebook page about Ian Poveda.
Speaking to Football Insider, Danny Mills revealed that he could see the young winger being forced out of the first team this season and could have to go out on loan.
However, some of our Super Fans disagreed with that statement, and many of them want to see the former Manchester City man stay at Elland Road this season. Here’s what they had to say…

It appears as if most of our loyal and passionate Super Fans are fans of Poveda and would like to see him the first team ahead of the likes of Tyler Roberts and Helder Costa.
Poveda was signed in January 2020 by the Whites and has made 20 first-team appearances since then.
He has been praised by Marcelo Bielsa in the past and could be an interesting option off the bench for the Whites this season, should he stay [LeedsLive].

We see no reason why Poveda should go out on loan and would love to see him push on this season and make more of an impact on games.
Clearly, many of our Super Fans like the 21-year-old as well, so now it is up to him to prove that he warrants regular appearances in Bielsa’s first team.
Poveda is still young and has plenty of time left in his career but wouldn’t it be fantastic to see him stake a claim this year?
In other Leeds United news, the Whites want to sign another young English winger.
