Leeds United striker Georginio Rutter shed tears before sealing Elland Road transfer
Leeds United striker Georginio Rutter was reportedly not keen on leaving Hoffenheim in the January transfer window.
According to German media outlet Kicker [7 March], the Frenchman “shed bitter tears” before sealing his move to Elland Road.
The 20-year-old became the club’s record signing but has failed to hit the ground running since his switch from the Bundesliga.

Trouble in paradise?
By this recent revelation, it seems like Rutter moved to Leeds against his will as it seemed like he preferred to stay in Germany.
There’s no doubt that a move to the Premier League is a step up for him but he does not see it that way and it’s a worrying sign.
He hasn’t proven why Jesse Marsch, Victor Orta and the Leeds hierarchy thought it was suitable to splash their transfer record on him.
Leeds have missed out on many a signing in the past that have been far better and more established as senior players due to their financial disadvantages.

However, now that the money is spent on Rutter, it’s time that they back him and give him more starts otherwise it’s going to be an absolute waste.
He may not be Javi Gracia’s signing, but the Spaniard has to do with what he’s got at the club and Rutter clearly is someone who’s a first-team regular.
In other Leeds United news, the club may now face a losing battle to keep their star player at Elland Road beyond the summer transfer window.
