Leeds United January signing Georginio Rutter needed convincing from his agent and also cried before sealing Elland Road transfer.

According to Kicker [7 March], he’s already missing his Hoffenheim teammates and has struggled to get game time for Leeds.

In his six games for the club, he’s been brought on as a substitute on five occasions and hasn’t done enough to merit why he deserves to be a regular starter.

From the looks of it, Rutter is an unhappy man at Leeds and that can perhaps explain his lack of appearances for the club.

Usually, record signings are quickly bedded in and within a game or two are one of the first names on the team sheet.

However, the Frenchman seems that he is behind Patrick Bamford in the pecking order and his starts are only down to the Englishman’s unavailability.

Out wide too, the likes of Crysenscio Summerville and Willy Gnonto are being preferred over Rutter so there clearly is a lack of faith from the coaching staff.

If until the end of the season, it’s the same thing, we will not be surprised if Rutter asks to leave the club.

For someone to already miss their teammates and to cry bitter tears before joining Leeds, it’s evident that it’s a transfer he did not really fancy.

Relegation would probably all but seal the player’s fate as he’ll be on high wages and given his age, Leeds can make decent money from his sale to deal with the rigours of the Championship.

In other Leeds United news, the club may now face a losing battle to keep their star player at Elland Road beyond the summer transfer window.
