Leeds United still in market for another new transfer after Marc Roca deal confirmed

Leeds United are still pushing in the market to sign a new striker, according to Graham Smyth.

The Yorkshire Evening Post journalist has reported that the Whites and Victor Orta are now dialling in on a new face for the final third at Elland Road.

This comes after Marc Roca was confirmed as the third signing of the summer already on Friday [17 June], following Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen.

Writing in the Yorkshire Evening Post on Friday evening [17 June], Smyth shared what to expect next from the Whites as they continue with their transfer business.

“The Whites are still in the market for a centre forward,” he wrote.

“And will also replace Raphinha should he leave for a Champions League club during this transfer window, although no offer for the Brazilian has been received yet.”

Get moving.

This should have been the number one priority alongside Roca in midfield.

Kristensen and Aaronson were brilliant signings and were clearly deals that were easier to get over the line due to the good relationship with RB Salzburg formed since January.

Patrick Bamford only started nine games in the 2021-22 season, and it created huge problems for not only Jesse Marsch, but Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road.

Dan James and Rodrigo were both used in failed experiments, with Joe Gelhardt the main man in the end despite his severe lack of experience in the Premier League.

Now, it looks as though all eyes are on a new striker being brought in.

Much also depends on the future of Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips, with their potential exits likely set to change everything with replacements no doubt needed.

Things are cooking up yet again in West Yorkshire, with this window set to carry on in the same crazy manner as it started – bring it on.
