Leeds United starlet Nohan Kenneh in squad to face Brighton

Leeds United welcome Brighton and Hove Albion to Elland Road on Sunday (15 May) knowing they need to avoid defeat to keep their survival hopes alive.

The Whites currently occupy the third relegation spot with Watford and Norwich City below them already down but defeat against the Seagulls paired with a Burnley win away at Tottenham in the earlier kick-off would effectively send them down too.

Jesse Marsch does have Patrick Bamford back at his disposal and the England international has been named in the matchday squad along with some less familiar names.

As reported by Leeds Live, Nohan Kenneh is the least experienced of those in the squad having never played a Premier League game – but having one yellow card to his name somehow [Transfer Markt].

Fellow academy graduates Lewis Bate, Leo Hjelde, Kristoffer Klaesson and Charlie Cresswell are also named alongside the likes of Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha for the crunch match.

Go for it

Leeds have got nothing left to lose now so Marsch can afford to go a bit more gung-ho in an attempt to find a result from anywhere.

The American can relax a little knowing that Burnley have to go to Spurs who are in great form as they chase a Champions League spot from their arch-rivals Arsenal but they can’t wait for the Clarets to slip up.

Even just a point would be enough to get them out of the drop zone if Tottenham go on to win but Mike Jackson’s side have a game in hand so a win would be very preferable.

The issue there though is that Brighton are a side in really good form having beaten Spurs, Arsenal and Manchester United (convincingly) in recent weeks and they are a side full of confidence.

Graham Potter has the Seagulls playing some scintillating football and if they turn up at their best, then the Whites might struggle to cope so they need to start fast and try to get ahead early before holding on.

In other Leeds United news, the boss is starting the revolution of his backroom staff with two jobs coming up for application recently.
