Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips criticised by Curtis Woodhouse
Curtis Woodhouse has criticised Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips on his Twitter account.
The former Premier League footballer turned boxer agot into an argument with a Leeds fan over Declan Rice and Phillips and slated the 25-year-old for the number of goals the Whites have conceded with him in defensive midfield.
He claimed that in four Premier League games, Leeds have conceded 11 goals with Phillips playing as a defensive midfielder; however, the England international has only played in three league games and missed the Manchester United match.
“Here’s (sic) some stats for you. Leeds have conceded 11 goals in 4 games with Phillips playing defensive midfield,” said the former Sheffield United and Birmingham player on Twitter.
Woodhouse needs to check his statistics.
Leeds have had a poor start to the Premier League with no wins from their first four league games, while they have managed one draw at home and one away.
However, the one game that Phillips missed was the thrashing by Manchester United.
Therefore, you can’t say that he is responsible for any of those goals, and the record is actually six goals conceded in three games.
Now, if we are comparing him directly to Rice, then we can see that the Hammers have conceded five goals in four games with Rice playing, which is only slightly better than Phillips.
To be honest, we don’t really want to compare Rice and Phillips as both are slightly different and have formed a wonderful partnership in the England midfield.
However, if Woodhouse is going to dig Phillips out, then he should at least make sure that his statistics are correct because otherwise, he just looks silly.
