Marcelo Bielsa confirms Leeds team news v Newcastle

Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed his Leeds United team news for the Premier League clash against Newcastle.

The Whites travel to St James’ Park tomorrow evening looking for their first three points of the season after a bad start.

Pascal Struijk is suspended, with Diego Llorente and Robin Koch confirmed as missing through their injury problems.

Confirmed on Twitter via Adam Pope, the Whites have numerous issues to deal with ahead of the trip to the North East.

“Team news from Bielsa’s pre-Newcastle press conference,” he wrote.

That confirms that the Whites will be without Llorente, Koch, Struijk as well as Adam Forshaw who has yet another issue.

One positive is that Patrick Bamford will be fit after concerns regarding a hamstring problem through the week.

Crisis?

Leeds have a big problem ahead of them at St James’ Park.

We are already having flashbacks to last season where our defence simply couldn’t get a solid run of games together without being forced to change.

That has already been the same this season.

Llorente, Koch and now Struijk have all been forced to miss games and we are only onto the fifth outing of the campaign tomorrow evening.

Liam Cooper has been heavily criticised this season already, but the truth is that he is guaranteed to start as he is the only defender who can guarantee a string of fixtures together without injury.

Hopefully, our attacking players can take centre-stage rather than the makeshift defence and all three points can be in the bag.
