Leeds United star Diego Llorente hit by virus and will miss 10 days - Phil Hay
Leeds United defender Diego Llorente has been struck down by illness in the past week, according to Phil Hay.
The Athletic journalist has shared that despite not being COVID-19, it looks as though the virus has somehow gotten to the Spaniard.
Hay shared that Llorente will be missing for up to 10 days, the standard isolation period for the virus which can lead to a clear assumption.
Writing for The Athletic, Hay shared the update as yet another star man bit the dust this week at Elland Road.
“Ayling ended up being fine to take his place in the trenches but illness knobbled Diego Llorente instead,” he wrote.
“Llorente was not confirmed as suffering from COVID-19 but Bielsa’s admission that the centre-back would be missing for up to 10 days sounded like a fairly clear hint that the virus had got to him.”
When it rains, it pours.
Llorente may not be a confirmed case of COVID, but if that has affected him – this surely brings the Whites into a position where they can apply for postponements.
Marcelo Bielsa may be standing strong and admitting that he won’t ask for games to be called off, but enough is enough and the Whites are simply being embarrassed at the minute.
Llorente has been one of the only mainstays at Elland Road this season, so now he has fallen, we hardly have anyone left available.
This now means that he will also be missing at Liverpool, and that could get even worst than the four goals we shipped in the past week.
