Leeds United stance on West Brom manager Carlos Corberan shared after Jesse Marsch sacking

Leeds United reportedly love West Brom manager Carlos Corberan as they decided to sack Jesse Marsch after a poor run of results.

According to 90Min journalist Graeme Bailey, they have loved Corberan ever since he was Marcelo Bielsa’s assistant during the Argentine’s time at Elland Road.

Corberan then moved to Huddersfield Town and then had a brief spell at Olympiacos before moving to the Hawthorns.

Via Twitter, Bailey wrote, “Leeds love West Bromwich Albion head coach Carlos Corberan…they have done ever since his spell under Marcelo Bielsa.”

Too soon?

It may be too soon to judge his credentials as a manager so the Whites need to take some time and for now look at other appointments.

He did well at Huddersfield Town, made the play-off final and also won the Manager of the Month in February 2022 but he struggled in Greece so they have to be cautious about all of this.

Southampton appointed a manager from the Championship who did decently but since coming to the Premier League, things haven’t been good for Nathan Jones.

Leeds need to have a thorough process and not just go for the names that are available or make sense like Marcelo Bielsa or Corberan.

It remains to be seen what the American owners do now and whether or not they have a say in who the new manager will be.

Marsch seemed like their guy and the decision to sack him came fairly quickly given how much money they spent in January.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are now preparing to sign a former Barcelona defender in the summer and have already taken decisive steps towards sealing the deal.
