Leeds United skipper Liam Cooper will require scan after knee problem
Leeds United skipper Liam Cooper has picked up a knee injury as he missed the Premier League game against Manchester City.
The Whites lost 4-0 at Elland Road on Saturday as Cooper watched on from the bench. The defender will now undergo a scan in the next few days according to BBC journalist Adam Pope.
Goals from Rodri, Nathan Ake, Gabriel Jesus and Fernandinho sealed all three points as Pep Guardiola’s side moved to the top of the table.
Pope wrote on Twitter: “Liam Cooper has a knee problem which will require a scan.”
Huge blow
Leeds will suffer a massive blow if Cooper is ruled out for the rest of the season.
The Whites skipper already missed a chunk of the campaign through injuries and he will be terribly missed in the remaining few games with the club fighting for survival.
Cooper has been outstanding after he returned to full fitness, and he is a strong leader at the club. He organises the back four and makes sure other players stay focused throughout the game.

Against City, Leeds lacked the leadership skill at the back. At times, it looked like the players are not confident of their roles, especially after conceding two goals.
The sloppy defending is one of the reasons why Leeds struggled against City. Against big teams, they needed to tighten up.
The next two games are massive for Leeds as they face Arsenal and Chelsea. If they lose both the games, it could allow Everton and Burnley to make big leads and that could spell disaster in their battle for survival.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are leading the race to complete a major signing and have already opened talks to seal a £25m deal.
