Leeds United set for fresh cash injection amid Premier League survival twist – Sky Sports pundit

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United

Paul Robinson has suggested the Leeds United board could give the club a “big financial boost” in order to stave off the threat of relegation.

The Whites have been embroiled in consecutive relegation battles and are looking to maintain their Premier League status.

Robinson believes the board need to give the squad a cash injection if they wish to avoid a similar scenario from occurring again next season.

“I think it all depends on finances and it will all depend on what happens with the takeover,” Robinson exclusively told MOT Leeds News.

“It depends on what finances come into the club. I think you look at the squad over the last two seasons and they’ve flirted with relegation.

“The board will either put a big financial boost into the squad to prevent the threat of relegation from happening again next year, or there will be the same structure and they will be there or thereabouts to stay in the Premier League again.”

For now, Leeds’ primary focus will be on Saturday’s fixture against Fulham at Craven Cottage (22 April). Javi Gracia’s side head to the capital having conceded eleven goals in their last two outings.

In other Leeds United news, Gary Neville has taken a swipe at owner Andrea Radrizzani after it emerged he could lose £270m if the club are relegated.
