Leeds United senior man Adam Forshaw discusses his Elland Road future
Leeds United man Adam Forshaw wants to stay at Elland Road beyond the expiration of his contract.
The 30-year-old has bounced back superbly from nearly two years out and has started the last four Premier League games.
However, his deal expires at the end of this season, and as of yet, there is no sign that the Whites are going to give him a new contract.
However, Forshaw revealed to the BBC that he would love to stay at Elland Road. He said: “I’d love it.
“I’ve never enjoyed living somewhere as much as here, and I’ve actually had a torrid time in terms of on the pitch, so that says a lot about the area and the people and what I think of the place.
“So I would love to [stay]; I am just enjoying playing again and see what the future holds.”
A clear message from Forshaw.
It is beyond clear that Forshaw wants to stay and play for the Whites for a lot longer yet.
He seems settled in the area and also appears to be enjoying life on and off the pitch.
Of course, football isn’t a sentimental game, and if his performances decline as the season goes on, you would expect the Whites to move him on.
However, if he keeps up his recent form, we see no reason why Leeds wouldn’t sort out a new deal for the former Brentford man.
In truth, if anyone deserves a new deal in this Leeds side, it is Forshaw because he has bounced back superbly from his injury woes and is contributing strong performances.
So it remains to be seen exactly what happens but hopefully, the Whites sort out a new deal for him.
This is a great interview with the midfielder, and any Leeds fan should check it out.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites could be without key trio against Brentford.
