Leeds United ready to overpay for Charles De Ketelaere, Club Brugges will decide before Sunday

Leeds United are ready to overpay by millions to sign Club Brugges star Charles De Ketelaere this summer, according to La Gazetta Dello Sport.

The Italian newspaper has reported in its print edition [22 July, pg. 6/7] that although AC Milan are still favourites they will only pay £27.2million including bonuses, despite the asking price being a minimum of £29.7million.

Despite that Leeds are ready to pay £34million and a decision is set for the next three days and definitely before Sunday from Brugges as the saga looks set to come to an end finally.

The Italian media appear set on the fact that there is no chance De Ketelaere wants to make the switch to Elland Road this summer, although other noises make it very clear it’s the opposite.

Of course, the San Siro remains his priority, but if AC Milan don’t cough up the cash, they cannot expect that move to go through, and right now that is looking like the case.

MOT Leeds News exclusively revealed this week that the Whites are ready to move immediately should the Italians miss out on this deal, and that would surely put them in the driving seat.

Answers.

This is the moment we have all been waiting for.

Confidence could be growing at Elland Road given all of this noise, with no answer still being found despite days and weeks of everyone being told AC Milan are going to get this deal done.

If they were so confident, surely this transfer would have been completed by now.

Leeds are playing it very smart, with Jesse Marsch even admitting that De Ketelaere is still a target, although more in the background given everything that has happened.

For him to say that the club must believe there is still a chance of getting the deal over the line, and the more talk coming from Italy, the more it seems that could be the case.

Of course, things could change dramatically in the next 48 hours with this coming to a conclusion, but next week could be the week we finally see Leeds make their push.
