Leeds United quote Kalvin Phillips valuation to Aston Villa
Leeds United have reportedly told Aston Villa that they want £60million for midfielder Kalvin Phillips this summer.
According to Birmingham Live journalist James Preece, Villa’s interest is real as they’re eyeing a swoop once the transfer window opens.
However, he feels that the 26-year-old will stay put at Elland Road for another season at least.
Writing on a Q&A piece, Preece claimed, “Villa’s interest is real. They have been quoted £60million. If you’re asking me, I think Phillips will stay at Leeds for at least another season.”
Set to stay?
It looks like Phillips will stay on for another season despite the growing interest in his services.
Bar Villa, even Manchester United have been linked with the services of the England international.
However, with Raphinha looking set for a summer exit, Leeds will not want to lose two of their best players in the same window.
The Brazilian has recently joined the Whites, but Phillips has been at the club for his entire career.
Barring that, he’s also a boyhood Leeds fan and Yorkshire lad so he’s certainly attached to the city more than Raphinha ever will be.
These factors will surely play a part in his decision making and we expect him to stay put at Elland Road.
Hopefully, he signs the new deal and ends this speculation once and for all as it’s been drawing on for several weeks now.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are leading the race to complete a major signing and have already opened talks to seal a £25m deal.
