Leeds United promotion chances revealed by Supercomputer after Hull City draw

Leeds United are predicted to win the Championship title despite dropping two points in their latest encounter against Hull City, as per Opta Analyst.

Despite dropping two points in a 3-3 draw against the Tigers, Opta Analyst has the Whites as their predicted champions with a 41.14 per cent chance of winning the title.

Although, much of that will hinge on their ability to solve the Illan Meslier dilemma at Elland Road, with the goalkeeper proving to be prone to errors that will cost Leeds points going forward.

The Supercomputer has Leeds in with a 71.9 per cent chance of securing automatic promotion, with Sheffield United expected to finish second with a 58.18 per cent chance.

Leeds United in pole position to secure promotion

When a side occupies the summit of the Championship at this stage in the season, it’s usually a good indication as to where or whereabout they’ll finish the campaign. Barring a calamitous month, Leeds will remain up there.

With a three-point gap currently separating them and the remainder of the top four, their only focus has to be on winning their own games and as long as they do that, they achieve promotion. Simple, I know.

However, things will never be that way and the Whites have shown a lack of consistency across the season with several missed opportunities to extend their advantage at the top of the table – the Hull game a prime example.

One of the biggest factors in the promotion hunt may be Leeds’ ability to strengthen the goalkeeping department, with confidence in Meslier weakening every game.

Having now entered the second half of the campaign, consistency from now will be key to any hopes of a Premier League return.
