Leeds United are ready to accept a suitable transfer offer for Illan Meslier, according to the Daily Mail.

The news outlet reported (5 January) that the Whites would consider selling the 24-year-old before the winter window deadline on 3 February.

Daniel Farke's team are willing to listen to a decent proposal for the Frenchman after another underwhelming display against Hull City on Saturday (4 January).

Illan Meslier not good enough for Leeds United

Meslier has been the number one at the Whites for some time now, as they've had some moments to forget over the years.

The Peacocks were relegated to the Championship after the 2022/23 season and have since been close to getting back into the Premier League.

In the previous campaign, Farke's team just missed out after losing to Southampton in the play-off final.

Leeds are seen as the favourites to attain automatic promotion this time around, but Meslier's form could endanger those hopes.

The France Under-21 international has had several questionable moments this season already, none more worrisome than against Sunderland in October.

It's not surprising to see that the Peacocks are open to parting ways with the 24-year-old despite how much he has grown over the years.

If the Whites have any hope of retaining their place in the English top flight once they get there, they will evidently need a better goalkeeper.

Maybe the German manager should give Karl Darlow more opportunities to remove Meslier from the firing line.

The West Yorkshire outfit are still at the top of the table, but Burnley are only one point behind them.
