Leeds United predicted XI v Aston Villa: Dan James axed

Jesse Marsch must axe Dan James from his Leeds United XI for the Premier League clash against Aston Villa on Thursday.

The American stuck with Marcelo Bielsa’s decision and named him in his first team that took on Leicester.

The Whites ended up losing 1-0 despite creating a number of chances, they failed to find the back of the net.

Despite leading the line, he failed to register more than a solitary effort on target.

The Welshman is most suited to playing out wide, and currently, Raphinha and Jack Harrison are ahead of him in the pecking order.

Mateusz Klich and Robin Koch were both not as effective in midfield and they could make way for Adam Forshaw and Stuart Dallas.

Luke Ayling played as a centre-back against Leicester with Robin Koch moving to midfield.

Klich moving out of the team could see Dallas move into midfield with both Ayling and Koch reverting to their preferred positions.

Marsch would prefer playing a 4-2-2-2 with two designated strikers and this could see Patrick Bamford returning to the starting eleven.

He was on the bench against Leicester and could not play more than 10 minutes of that game.

He should be fit to play at least 60 here and it will be interesting to see how he would play with Rodrigo next to him.

The Spaniard has played most of his games for Leeds in midfield and it will be interesting to see how he fares as a striker.
