LUTV pundit predicts 'key battle' between Leeds star and Huddersfield 19-year-old

LUTV pundit Ben Parker has predicted that Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips will have a key battle against Huddersfield Town’s Emile Smith-Rowe.

Parker insisted that Phillips is the best holding midfielder in England, and will be key to stopping the impressive Arsenal loanee at Elland Road.

The 19-year-old has featured nine times since arriving in West Yorkshire in January, scoring on a couple of occasions and assisting once.

Parker predicted that Phillips will be able to keep Smith-Rowe quiet despite him being key to the Terriers’ recent upsurge in form.

“The guy, Smith-Rowe, number 32 playing that number 10 position is a lot of bright prospects about him,” he said during LUTV’s Scouting Report.

“A lot of people speak well about him in the game. He’s direct, he likes to run at people, so that’ll be a key battle with him and Kalvin.

“Kalvin, like we keep mentioning, best player in the Championship – best player in that position probably in England in my opinion. So, it’ll be a good battle to keep him quiet.”

Phillips is one of the best in the country in this position, and Marcelo Bielsa will have full faith in his midfielder to help keep Huddersfield quiet.

Smith-Rowe may have been one of the Terriers’ better players in the past two months, but he hasn’t exactly set the world alight.

If you compare the Arsenal youngster to Pablo Hernandez via WhoScored, you see a clear difference – the Spaniard completes more shots and key passes per game as well as taking fewer bad touches.
