Leeds United news: Jesse Marsch ‘contemplating’ major backroom changes – Dean Jones

Leeds United still have plenty to do this season to secure their Premier League safety but Jesse Marsch is already considering next season at Elland Road.

He inherited some of Marcelo Bielsa’s backroom staff when he arrived in Yorkshire after the Argentine’s sacking in February but it seems like he may be ready to shake things up.

Manchester United assistant Chris Armas is one name being thrown around having been brought in alongside interim boss Ralf Rangnick and Dean Jones thinks he could turn up at Thorp Arch.

“It would be a much better fit for him because, at the moment, it sounds like there’s almost zero respect at Manchester United,” Jones said to Give Me Sport.

“He needs to work with people that understand what he’s good at and give him the respect that he clearly deserves in his field of work.

“Jesse Marsch is somebody that knows him well, he’s definitely contemplating how his backroom team shapes up for next season and it wouldn’t be a surprise at all if he turned up at Elland Road.”

Why would anybody want a piece of the circus at Old Trafford right now?

Armas might be a talented assistant but if he was really a top coach, he wouldn’t be part of one of the most hilarious weekly watches in the Premier League, up there with Everton.

Marsch has already settled in nicely at Elland Road alongside the staff he has alongside him so why would he feel the need for change given that he has helped the Whites away from relegation?

Armas dug himself into this hole by agreeing to go to United and now he should have to wallow in his misery and suffer the pain of being at Manchester United right now.

There is no big rush to overhaul the off-field staff with more worrying concerns on the pitch that will take much more cash and time to get over the line so let’s focus on that before we revolutionise the rest of the club.
