Leeds United fans shock Trevor Sinclair with noise v Manchester City
Leeds United were unfortunately humbled by Premier League leaders Manchester City yesterday as Pep Guardiola’s side ran out 4-0 winners.
Rodri, Nathan Ake, Gabriel Jesus and Fernandinho scored the goals for the away side as Elland Road was left disappointed by the result as Burnley rose above them.
That leaves the Whites 17th in the league but five points clear of Everton who are the nearest to getting themselves out of danger.
Trevor Sinclair attended the game yesterday and he could not believe the noise created by the passionate Leeds United fans despite the disappointing result for Jesse Marsch’s side.
“Pretty blown away by the Leeds Utd fans at Elland Road today. Beaten 0-4 but sang their hearts out from min 1 till way after the match had ended,” Sinclair said via his personal Twitter account.
There won’t have been many Leeds United supporters who would have expected their side to turn up and stuff the league leaders and reigning champions.
You only have to glance at the gulf between the two sides in the table to see that the Whites aren’t really at the Citizens’ level but they would have expected a bit more fight.
Things were almost too easy for Manchester City to control the game and pick off players when they tried to press and that can come down to coaching.
Marsch might not have his complete ideology across to the players yet, which is fine considering he’s only been here for a couple of months.
The players obviously don’t fully understand it yet but the more they try and practice, the better they will get and eventually it will click and teams like City will have a very tough time at Elland Road.
