Leeds United new signing Tyler Adams reveals desire to play in front of ‘electric’ fans

New Leeds United signing Tyler Adams has said he cannot wait to play in front of “electric” new fans, in an interview with the Leeds Youtube Channel.

The Whites confirmed a deal for the American midfielder on 6 July and the former Leipzig midfielder has revealed his excitement ahead of making his debut in the club.

He also claimed that he used to watch the Premier League going up and that his friends that have played in the division have spoken about the atmosphere in the top flight.

Adams said: “So far what I’ve heard about the Premier League is that it is electric.

“Talking to my friends that have played in the Premier League, they say it is one of the best atmospheres that they have ever played in.

“To now have those fans supporting me, is something special.”

The Marsch Revolution?

Adams joins Leeds for a reported fee of £20m [Sky Sports], after three successful years at RB Leipzig where he helped the team reach the Champions League semi-final in 2020, and win the German Cup last season in a penalty shootout win against Freiburg.

The combative midfielder has already made 19 appearances for his country, and he becomes the second American signing that Leeds have made this summer after former RB Salzburg midfielder Brenden Aaronson joined the club earlier in the window.

He is also the fifth signing that the Yorkshire club have made this window so far with Adams, Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen, Marc Roca and Darko Gayibi joining the club, making Leeds total transfer expenditure this window exceed £70m.

The former New York Red Bulls academy player is also reunited with former manager Jesse Marsch, a manager that Adams has already worked under twice previously before coming to Elland Road.

When talking about his relationship with Marsch, Adams said: “Jesse has had a huge influence on my career so far.

“He has given me a lot of experiences as a young player that other players may have not received.”

In other Leeds United news, the club are reportedly close to completing the signing of Feyernoord winger, Luis Sinisterra.
