Leeds United monitoring Millwall attacking midfielder Jed Wallace

Leeds United are monitoring the situation of Millwall attacking midfielder Jed Wallace, according to The News.

The 27-year-old is out of contract at the end of 2021-22 and that has opened his services up to discounted deals this winter, or a pre-contract agreement overseas, with Besiktas and Watford also linked.

The Championship outfit could be forced to cash in on Wallace before the January transfer window ends so as not to lose him for nothing, and it appears Leeds will not hesitate to move should he become available for a fee they cannot ignore.

Needed?

Marcelo Bielsa could be forced to make some additions to his attack this month after seeing his side score just 19 goals in as many Premier League games so far this season.

The Millwall ace – once dubbed unbelievable by manager Gary Rowett – has bagged five goals and weighed in with six assists in 21 league games so far, and he could be a solid addition for the Elland Road side.

With injuries preventing most of their players from featuring regularly this term, the Whites have largely relied on Raphinha for the goals, and that has to change during the second half of the campaign.

Wallace bagged 21 goals and 18 assists across 2019-20 and 2020-21, and he is definitely a serious goal threat.

He can play on both wings, as a striker and in central midfield, and that versatility could be a reason why Leeds are keeping tabs on him.

They need to do some serious business this month to keep themselves up, and such a signing could do the trick.

Whether they will be ready to convince the player and Millwall remains to be seen, but a bargain deal could be there to be taken.
