Leeds United man Jaidon Anthony reacts as Callum Wilson shares Newcastle United Champions League update

Leeds United winger Jaidon Anthony has reacted after Callum Wilson shared an update following Newcastle United’s draw with AC Milan.

The Magpies picked up a point in their Champions League group stage opener after a goalless draw at the San Siro on Tuesday (19 September).

Anthony, who joined Leeds on loan from Bournemouth in the summer, spent several years alongside Wilson at the Cherries.

“Great point away from home in our opening fixture,” Wilson wrote on Instagram. “On a personal note, it’s been a long road… from the Conference to the Champions League!!

“Moral of the story: Never give up on your dreams, work hard and let nothing get in your way. Thank you to all the travelling fans and thank you to everyone who’s helped me on this journey.”

Fantastic journey

It really has been a phenomenal, somewhat unbelievable journey from Wilson from the Conference to Europe’s premier club competition.

He deserves enormous credit for the hard work that he has put in over the years, with the striker set to make many unforgettable Champions League memories over the coming months.

Wilson has already made a pretty special one, playing at the iconic home of one of the greatest clubs of all time in AC Milan.

The story will only get better given how the Magpies have been drawn in Group F alongside the Italian giants, French side PSG and German outfit Borussia Dortmund.

Leeds ace Jaidon Anthony is certain to be one of countless followers of Wilson and Newcastle over the course of the Champions League campaign.

But the Whites man will, of course, be focusing on his own journey, with the winger set to be heavily involved under Daniel Farke during his temporary stay at Elland Road.
