Leeds United man Helder Costa is struggling on loan
Leeds United loan man Helder Costa appears to be struggling on loan at Valencia this season.
The Yorkshire Evening Post report that the 27-year-old winger has only managed to appear for 16 minutes since he swapped Elland Road for Spain on transfer deadline day.
Now, this wouldn’t be too bad if the La Liga side hadn’t played many games, but since he joined, Valencia have played five matches. So he isn’t playing much at all and things don’t look great for Costa.
Things are looking bleak for Costa.
After Dan James arrived from Manchester United, the former Portuguese international was sent out on loan by Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
Now, you would have hoped that Costa could have seized this opportunity and made a big impression and potentially earned a move away to restart his career.
However, if he can’t get in the team, then why would Valencia activate their option to buy [official Leeds United website]?
They wouldn’t, so we hope for Costa’s sake that he can get his act together and make a big difference in the rest of the season.
After he left Leeds, Bielsa admitted how sad he was that the move just didn’t work out as he knows that he is talented [Leeds Live].
Therefore, it is time for Costa to prove that Bielsa wasn’t wrong about him.
He can and should be able to do a lot more for Valencia, so let us all hope that he gets back into the first team in the coming games after the international break.
