Leeds United make new pre-season announcement with big blow for travelling fans
Leeds United will have to play friendlies for their pre-season tour of Germany behind closed doors in a blow for visiting supporters.
This news was confirmed via the clubs’ Official Website [25 June] with the club asking fans not to travel to Germany during during the club’s tour.
Leeds said that “all avenues” were explored and stated that talks are currently ongoing between the relevant parties about streaming the games.
What this means for Leeds United supporters in summer
For most clubs, pre-season tours are something that fans can get behind and perhaps give those who live away from the stadium a chance to see the team that they support live.
However, thanks to this recent update, there are currently only be two games for the Whites’ fans to see their team in action as they build-up to the 2024/25 Championship campaign.
The first of which will be held at the Exercise Stadium against Harrogate Town on 19 July and the other will be against La Liga side Valencia on 3 August.

While there remains uncertainty over star players such as Crysencio Summerville [Graeme Bailey, 22 June] and Willy Gnonto during the transfer window forLeeds [Ben Jacobs, 18 June], pre-season tours are a great opportunity for fans to interact with players and enjoy a trip away.
So it is a genuine shame that supporters will be denied that chance to do so and hopefully a resolution can be found that suits all parties before Leeds head to Germany.
In other Leeds news, Graeme Bailey has also shared what he knows about the Whites’ pursuit of Callym O’Hare.
