Leeds United make contact to re-sign Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah

Leeds United have made contact over a potential move to re-sign Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah in January.

That’s according to TMW, who suggest that if the England international doesn’t leave in January, he will be available on a free in the summer.

Nketiah is also said to be targeted by the likes of West Ham, Crystal Palace and other clubs across Europe.

The race is really starting to heat up for Nketiah.

Victor Orta will have kept a close eye on the young striker ever since his loan move at Elland Road was cut short a couple of seasons ago.

It hasn’t quite worked out for him at the Emirates Stadium, and Marcelo Bielsa would surely welcome him back with open arms.

Leeds haven’t exactly got money to burn, so a cut-price deal in January or even a free transfer in the summer would work perfectly.

This would be a brilliant addition to this current Leeds squad.

Patrick Bamford has struggled with injuries throughout this season, and the Whites haven’t really had an out-and-out replacement for him.

Tyler Roberts and Rodrigo are the first names that spring to mind, but both have been formed into attacking midfielders behind the striker by Bielsa.

After them, Joe Gelhardt is the next in line but it’s clear that there is a hesitancy to throw him into a Premier League game from the start as things stand.

Nketiah would be the perfect signing at this moment, he wouldn’t be expecting starts every single week, but he would push Bamford hard and most likely overtake him in the pecking order in years to come.

He obviously scored in our last meeting only last month, and has been described as “incredible” by Mikel Arteta – it’s time to get this one done.
