Leeds United look to make Thorp Arch appointment to priortise player experience

Leeds United are reportedly looking to hire a Casual Academy Physiotherapist to work at Thorp Arch to enrich the player experience.

According to an ad posted on Complementary Training, this appointment is targeted at candidates who are relishing the challenge of helping players that are taking the steps towards professional football.

It’s understood that the desired candidate will be “Responsible for assisting in the delivery of the Academy Physiotherapy Programme to ensure a first-class player experience for players across the 9-16 age groups of the academy.”

Good move

Injuries and Leeds United go hand in hand so the more physios they can get on board the better it will be, given how vast the youth intake is at Thorp Arch.

Every year, tens of players are taken in at different age groups and are taught how to play the Leeds United way.

Most children growing up in Yorkshire that have aspirations of making it big, will certainly dream of enrolling at Thorp Arch and getting absorbed by the system.

There are plenty of success stories of kids joining in their early teens and going on to have tremendous professional careers either at Leeds or elsewhere.

The roles of physios also cannot be understated especially when they’re working with kids at that age as the nature of injuries can be complex.

It’s important to ensure that they’re not being told to play through the pain as a few wrong things may end their chances of making it in the game so it is a role of some significance and one that there should be a good amount of applications for.

In other Leeds United, the Whites are now in pole position to seal their first signing under Javi Gracia despite interest from a Premier League rival.
