Leeds United loan exit for Charlie Cresswell a sensible option - Sky Sports pundit

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United

Paul Robinson believes Charlie Cresswell leaving Leeds United on loan would be a “sensible option” after his successful spell at Millwall.

The 20-year-old made 28 appearances for the Lions, scoring five goals and registering one assist from the centre of defence.

Cresswell has since returned to Elland Road and will have his future assessed during the summer transfer window. Robinson feels the “talented” defender could benefit from another temporary spell away.

“In all honesty, I haven’t seen too much of him this year for Millwall,” Robinson exclusively told MOT Leeds News.

“I’ve seen him make a couple of cameo appearances for Leeds in the past.

“Leeds clearly think very highly of him, he’s still a very talented young player. If Leeds doesn’t see him as part of their immediate set-up, another loan would be a sensible option.”

Elsewhere, Joe Gelhardt and Cody Drameh’s futures need to be decided. Gelhardt enjoyed a profitable loan spell at Sunderland during the second half of the 2022/23 season.

Drameh is currently getting ready to help Luton earn their place in the Premier League as the Hatters get set to take on Coventry City at Wembley on Saturday. A lot will become clearer after Leeds’ final league fixture against Tottenham.
