Leeds United loan deal terminated for Sonny Perkins as transfer update emerges from Elland Road
Leeds United have decided to terminate the loan deal for striker Sonny Perkins, recalling him from Oxford United, the club confirmed on 3 January.
Oxford stated in the summer that the Whites had agreed for the youngster to move to the club for the entire season.
However, he failed to create an impact and bagged just one goal since the loan deal went through and is now back at Elland Road and Oxford Mail claim that they’re already close to signing a replacement.

Needs to do better
Perkins’ loan spell at Oxford from Leeds has been underwhelming, with the 19-year-old forward managing just six appearances and one goal.
His limited playing time, including a mere five minutes of league football, indicates a lack of impact and adaptation to the demands of senior football.
Perkins, who scored in the EFL Trophy against Chelsea Under-21s, has failed to prove that he can find the back of the net on a consistent basis.

In recalling Perkins, Leeds should now prioritise finding him a more suitable loan destination where he can gain valuable experience and consistent playing time.
A successful loan stint is crucial for his development, helping him refine his skills and adapt to the competitive nature of professional football.
Perkins needs a platform where he can showcase his potential and contribute more effectively and needs to showcase why he was signed from West Ham.
In other Leeds United news, an international player linked with a move to Elland Road is unhappy at his current club and could be on his way out in the January transfer window.
