Leeds United interest in Bordeaux winger Alberth Elis suggests Elland Road stance on Raphinha
Leeds United are reportedly interested in a move for Bordeaux winger Alberth Elis – and this could confirm the club are thoroughly preparing for the departure of Raphinha.
As revealed by French news outlet L’Equipe on Wednesday [8 June], Leeds are keen on the 26-year-old winger and this could indicate the club are preparing for life without Raphinha.
The Brazilian has been subject to intense transfer speculation this summer and according to the Spanish newspaper, Mundo Deportivo (9 June, page 13), his agent Deco is offering the Brazilian to other clubs as he looks to pursue a move away from Elland Road.

Ultimately for Leeds, they need to resolve the Raphinha situation as soon as possible to give Jesse Marsch the best chance of reinvesting any potential fee back into the squad.
The fact they have been linked with a ten-goal 26-year-old Ligue 1 winger is a telling sign that Leeds don’t believe Raphinha will be at the club beyond the summer.
Elis is in the prime of his career and won’t be making the move to Elland Road if he is going to play second fiddle to the Brazilian.

Leeds will be able to get a reasonable fee for the 25-year-old Brazilian considering his form for Leeds.
It is hard to begrudge Raphinha a move away from Elland Road, with the winger approaching the prime of his career and wanting to play as high a level of club football as he possibly can.
He is a Champions League calibre player and needs to be playing in Europe’s top competition.
