Leeds United injury news as Max Wober forced off on international duty
Leeds United defender Max Wober could be holding a “minor injury” after being subbed off in the 34th minute of Austria’s clash against Azerbaijan on Friday night (24 March), according to Graham Smyth.
Wober, 25, has been an ever-present for the Whites since completing his £11million transfer from RB Salzburg in the January transfer window, playing 13 times and conceding just 11 goals.
However, after 34 minutes of Austria’s opening Euro 2024 qualifier, the centre-back was forced off the field for Stefan Posch, in what could be a blow for Leeds manager Javi Gracia.

Taking to Twitter, Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Smyth provided an update on the Austrian international.
He wrote: “Precautionary or at least minor, hopefully.”
Blow
Wober has been one of Leeds’ bright sparks in recent weeks and had started to form a strong bond with Robin Koch in the heart of the defence before the international break.
If the Austrian international has picked up an injury and subsequently set for a spell on the sidelines, it could not have come at a worse time for the Whites.
With a tough test against Arsenal awaiting on 1 April followed by home games against relegation rivals Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest, having Wober fully fit and firing will be imperative to any success the club hope on achieving.
The only positive news for Leeds is that captain Liam Cooper is nearing a return from injury.
The 31-year-old was named in Steve Clarke’s squad for Scotland’s upcoming internationals, so Gracia will hope the defender can get some minutes under his belt and be ready to take the reins if Wober is deemed unfit to play upon returning to Elland Road.
In other Leeds United news, one player’s exit could depend on Javi Gracia remaining the man in the dugout at Elland Road.
