Tyler Roberts could exit Leeds United in summer, move may depend on Javi Gracia - Sky Sports pundit
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson has suggested Tyler Roberts’ Leeds United exit could depend on who is in charge at Elland Road come the end of the season.
Roberts has returned to West Yorkshire from his loan spell at QPR after sustaining another injury setback (Leeds Live, 9 March).
Robinson believes the 24-year-old does have a future at Elland Road, although, it will depend heavily on who is in the dugout at the start of the 2023/24 season.
“He’s endured a really tough time at Elland Road. He’s contracted to the club until 2024 and he’s got an opportunity to get himself fit next season,” Robinson exclusively told MOT Leeds News.
“He’s got to focus on getting himself right and looking after himself personally as a footballer. His future at Leeds is probably uncertain, much like everyone else’s because you don’t know who the manager is going to be.

“He has to focus on himself and get himself ready for the start of next season. Who knows what league they’re going to be in, he may be a key component of a Championship side, as he has been previously. A new manager may come in and have a different opinion of him.
“There’s a lot of different scenarios which could unfold at the club but it’s important he’s able to take part in whatever he wants to at the start of next season.
“He could be with a different manager at Leeds in the Premier League or Championship, there are so many different permutations that can unfold.
“I think that’s his level (Championship), I really do, he’s come into the Premier League and found it hard at times and the Leeds fans haven’t taken to him in the top flight.
“At least he knows he’s got the comfort blanket of another year contracted to Leeds.”
The Welsh international has endured a tough loan spell in West London, only scoring three Championship goals. However, injury has once again hampered his progress with Roberts missing 19 second-tier fixtures in the 2022/23 season.
In other Leeds United news, the club may now face a losing battle to keep their star player at Elland Road beyond the summer transfer window.
