Leeds United already hope that Luis Sinisterra will be an upgrade on Dan James moving forward, according to Daniel Storey.
The reliable journalist shared the news as fans were left baffled by the decision to allow the Welshman to join Fulham on a season-long loan on deadline day.
Sinisterra started his first Premier League game against Everton last time out and scored his first league goal, his second in total after he also smashed in against Barnsley in the EFL Cup.
Writing in his latest column for i News, Storey shared the hopes of the Whites behind the scenes looking at their squad after the latest window.
“In terms of his directness and skill, Aaronson appears to be a fine replacement for Raphinha and is still only 21 years old.
“Luis Sinisterra is raw but will eventually replace Daniel James; Leeds hope that he is an upgrade.”
Sinisterra may be an upgrade on James, but this still makes no sense.
You cannot tell us that Brenden Aaronson was brought in to replace Raphinha, that is what the Colombian was brought in to do from Feyenoord.
Now, we’re in a position where we have had to rely on a young talent in the shape of Wilfried Gnonto to come in to replace someone who is Premier League tested and can play numerous positions.
That is no dig at the young Italian, he will no doubt prove himself in years to come, but he is the same player who Jesse Marsch recently openly admitted was not ready for the Premier League.
Now, Sinisterra is going to have to pull up some real trees as he looks to replace Raphinha and be an upgrade on James, who was the man who would come off the bench if needed in games.
Leeds can only call on Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville now, and this decision will continue to make zero sense.
