Leeds United have ‘huge game’ v Southampton on Saturday – Tony Dorigo
Relegation is still not completely out of the question for Leeds United and Saturday’s game against Southampton could be key to survival.
The Whites are currently seven points clear of the drop in 16th in the Premier League but despite the small number of games left to play, they have to be on their toes to avoid being dragged back towards the mire.
Tony Dorigo sees this weekend’s game against Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Saints as another huge test for Leeds.

“I look at this game in a similar way to the one against Newcastle in that, at that point in the season, if we had beaten them at home, we would have created a real buffer between us and the drop zone and looked fine,” Dorigo said in his Yorkshire Evening Post column.
“It’s similar now. If we can beat Southampton, that buffer becomes that much bigger and the tension you play under lessens. Newcastle were fighting for their lives; Southampton are slightly different but they’re more than a decent side as their position shows.
“It’s another huge game but, at home, it’s one we can win. No doubt everyone understands the enormity of it.”
One more win
Leeds could be on the brink of securing their safety come five o’clock on Saturday.
If the Whites can manage to win a third straight game in the Premier League against the Saints, they will have almost certainly put themselves beyond the reach of the chasing pack bar a remarkable upturn in form for one of the bottom three.

Jesse Marsch has found a way to win in the Premier League that previous manager Marcelo Bielsa had lost by the end of his tenure at Elland Road and the good feelings are flowing once more.
Southampton have enjoyed a very good season themselves and it will be by no means a simple task for the Whites but if anyone can find a way to win against all odds, it’s Leeds United.
In other Leeds United news, these European giants are willing to pay £42million to sign one of Marsch’s key players but there is a stumbling block in play.
