Leeds United have had no contact from Bayern for Raphinha transfer in January - Phil Hay

Phil Hay has shared that Leeds United have had no contact from Bayern Munich over the signing of Raphinha.

Shock reports emerged over Christmas that the Brazilian was set to move to Germany after agreeing a deal with the Whites.

Hay finally responded to those claims in the past 24 hours, insisting that it was one that left everyone shocked and confused.

Writing on his personal Twitter account in the past 24 hours, Hay finally responded to those shock links this week.

“It’s one of those stories which everyone seems non-plussed about,” he said.

Non-plussed.

Shock and confusion were the only two feelings most of us felt once this story broke over the Christmas weekend.

Raphinha is bound to gain the interest of many clubs over the next year as his contract runs down at Elland Road, something that needs to be addressed quickly.

The Brazilian has been sensational and this season has seen him carry us at times in certain games in the Premier League.

The stories claiming that Bayern had got a deal over the line insisted that it was only around £40million, something that would surely never be accepted.

This is something that we are going to have to get used to, we are in the bottom half of the Premier League and clubs will start looking to poach our big names.

Andrea Radrizzani needs to stand up and be counted, this is when he needs to be firm and make sure we don’t lose our players – thankfully, this one can be swept under the carpet.
