Leeds United: Graham Smyth moots Jaidon Anthony decision v Plymouth
Daniel Fake may opt to start Jaidon Anthony for Leeds United in their FA Cup fourth-round replay with Plymouth Argyle, according to Graham Smyth.
The Bournemouth loanee was impressive in the initial tie at Elland Road, scoring a wonderful solo goal but was named on the bench for the Whites’ Championship clash with Bristol City at Ashton Gate on Friday (2 February).
However, Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Smyth has suggested that the winger will likely return to the fold at Home Park on Tuesday (6 February) after his “lively” performance against the Pilgrims last time out.
Writing for the Yorkshire Evening Post (5 February) he said: “Why not? The Bournemouth loanee was lively against Plymouth in the original tie and scored a lovely goal.
“Summerville has been contending with some minor niggles this season, so a rest feels a safe option for him.”
Anthony can fire Leeds United to FA Cup fifth round
Anthony’s recent performances in a Leeds United shirt have seen him earn plenty of praise from pundits and supporters alike, with Farke himself gushing over the winger’s recent displays, labelling them “impressive” [Leeds Live, 5 February].
The 24-year-old has been going through a difficult spell off of the field with the passing of his mother, but supporters at Elland Road have done all they can to support him, while he has called for them to be patient with him in the coming weeks.

Anthony may not have set the world alight since arriving at Leeds, but he has shown signs in recent weeks that he could be hugely influential in the Whites’ run-in during the remainder of the season and he should be rewarded with a start on Tuesday.
With the risk of injury to crucial players at such an important stage of the season also looming over this cup tie, Farke would be naive to not rest the likes of Crysencio Summerville and Wilfried Gnonto in favour of Anthony.
