Jaidon Anthony has sent a message to Leeds United supporters after they showed their respect to the Whites winger during the win over Preston North End.

Daniel Farke's side claimed all three points at Elland Road and one of the biggest cheers of the day came when Anthony began his warm-up in the first half as the home supporters applauded the loanee after news emerged that his mum had passed away this week.

Anthony didn't make it off of the Whites' bench during Sunday's (21 January) but was quick to send a message of thanks to supporters both in and outside Elland Road for their messages of support.

Posting on his Instagram story on Sunday (21 January) he said: "Thank you for all the messages, bear with me for now but means a lot. Love you ma."

Marching on together

It is clear that the Leeds United fanbase have taken Anthony in as one of their own, even if his stay at Elland Road is only until the end of the season and it is safe to assume that the winger is feeling the love from the supporters.

He may not have gotten on the pitch during Sunday's clash but he is probably the focus of a lot of fans' thoughts currently and it is nice to see that he recognised the outpouring of emotion that has come his way in the last few hours.

Now Leeds fans have to follow Anthony's message and make sure they give the 24-year-old plenty of time. His career in Yorkshire may not have started as most fans would have hoped, but they have to be patient with the winger.

Hopefully, in time, he will be able to get back to his best in the coming weeks and months as he certainly has the ability to play a huge role in the Whites' promotion push between now and the end of the season.
