Leeds United fight Ligue 1 side Nice for Nantes forward Moses Simon

Leeds United are battling Ligue 1 side Nice for the signing of Nigerian winger Moses Simon according to French news outlet RMCSport.

The Nigerian attacker managed six goals and eight assists for Nantes in the 2021/22 season.

RMC reported on Wednesday 29 June that Leeds are “following him closely” despite the 26-year-old already having an agreement with Nice.

Yet another winger

Simon has joined a quickly emerging list of attackers that Leeds have been assessing over recent weeks.

Dutch journalist Rik Elfrink reported on Tuesday 28 June that the Whites are in talks with PSV Eindhoven winger Cody Gakpo, whilst 90min claimed on Wednesday 29 June that Jesse Marsch is also eyeing a move for his PSV teammate Noni Madueke.

The Eredivisie duo join Club Brugge forward Charles De Ketelaere and Porto winger Otavio in being linked with a move to Yorkshire in recent weeks.

The Whites have been relentless in their early transfer dealings, leaving their relegation rivals from the 2021/22 season very much in the rear-view mirror.

With Raphinha edging closer to the Elland Road exit, it is great to see the club Hierarchy actively plan for the Brazilian’s imminent departure.

If Leeds can land two of the previously mentioned targets then it would be a job well done by Marsch and Victor Orta.

Barring Otavio, all the players Leeds are showing an interest in are young and have time to develop should they make the move to Elland Road.

Leeds fans will begin to get really excited should Marsch start to add some attacking quality to his already growing squad.

In other Leeds United news, this Leeds player has arrived in a European city to undergo a medical before leaving Elland Road permanently.
